HRcertify Opens for Initial Round of Certifications

2003 May 12, The HR-XML Consortium announced today that HRcertify, a certification program for implementers of HR-XML Consortium specifications, has begun to accept its first round of certification requests.

During the initial round of certifications, all certification fees are waived for HR-XML Consortium member organizations. The initial certification period ends after the first 20 certifications have been received.

The certification fee is $5,000 for organizations that are not HR-XML Consortium members. This covers certification requests for up to 5 specifications during a two-year period.

HRcertify's inaugural certification program is described as "Phase One Certification,". The principal goal of Phase One is to provide implementers with a simplified, expedited process to register implementations conforming with HR-XML specifications.

As the name "Phase One" implies, later versions of the certification program may follow. The program will grow and evolve based on the requirements of those involved in the evaluation and procurement of HR solutions and of those involved in integrating such solutions.

Intially, certification under 8 different HR-XML Consortium specifications will be offered. Additional certification choices will be offered in the future.
